Congratulations to my wonderful dad, artist Tom Forrestall, who was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal yesterday in a ceremony yesterday at Government House in Halifax with thirty-three other amazing, achieving and deserving Nova Scotians.
This Canadian medal is to "honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians to their fellow countrymen, their community, or to Canada" and is administered by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall. Other medal recipients from Annapolis Royal were Peter Nicholson (Mathematician) and Sylvia Yeoman (Heritage Archivist.)

Mikasa website that Monica helped produce the content of launches!
I worked from December 2011 through March 2012 helping to produce the editorial content for the relaunch of Mikasa.com's well trafficked website. The four launch issues, all on different themes of tableware design using high end Mikasa tableware were on bridal "Happily Ever After," contemporary entertaining "Modern Dining" trendy tablescapes "Fashion Plates" and modern spin on classic look "Classic Style."
Got to work with a very talented team of expert e-commerce executives, marketing people, photographers in Boston as well as website designers and programers in Long Island.
I think the end result of a great team effort looks fantastic! There is a plan to roll out at least one new issue every month.
The link to the site is below. Come back and visit every month to see a new issue!
